A couple of days ago, Bulldog said he saw a bloopers clip of former WLOSer Kathy Scott, but it was actually former WLOSer Amy Davis. She wanted to be sure we got it straight, so she sent us a note, Bulldog:
Hello,
A former co-worker of mine at WLOS in Asheville e-mailed me a link to your website with the blurb about the Kathy Scott sighting. But the person you saw on Dick Clark was me! Kathy and I worked together at WLOS and always got mixed up. People called her Amy… or Kathy Davis. I got Amy Scott.. Kathy.
Anyway… I haven’t spoken with her in a couple of years since she moved to Charlotte. I am working in Houston now.. just thought I’d send along the correction! I should get royalties for that clip, right? A colleague actually sent it in in 1997.

The blooper apparently wasn’t the first time Amy’s had to deal with an embarrassing moment. There’s this, too:
Although she tries to forget it, Amy said one of her more embarrassing moments happened while covering Hurricane Floyd in 1999 for WLOS. She said when it was time for her to toss back to the anchor, she called him Floyd instead of Frank.
That would have been Frank Cracker, who moved on to Syracuse. Good for him. He always looked down on us mountain folk anyway. Go back with yer damn yankees, Cracker.
Ashvegas always felt Davis seemed to do a decent job, although we’ve never quite gotten over the rest home story. Davis snuck in with a hidden camera and did an expose on poor rest home conditions. We don’t think the journalistic ends justified the unethical means in that case.
