Press release here:

Hello,

My name is Kat Thomas and I am working with an organization called Soldier’s Heart, Asheville location…. We help support the troops as they return from duty and try to assimilate back into a “normal” lifestyle… none the less we are having a benefit on Sunday September 25th from 1-6 at the ByWater.

There will be free food provided by Roots Cafe, and Everett Farms, Bobby Miller and David Earl & the Plow Shares will be performing from 3-6.There will also be a Vietnam and Iraq War Veteran speaking engagement. There will also be a silent auction with items ranging from Paintings donated by Charlotte Scarce and hand blown glass wares donated by Probstein Studios to Spa Packages from L’eau de Vie… along with endless restaurant gift certificates and tickets to several local events such as LEAF festival.

Soldiers Heart SPECIFICALLY works with veterans that suffer from PTSD Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Ed Tick, the founder of Soldiers heart is hosting a healing retreat here in ASheville, October 6-9, 2011… there are 6 local veterans that would like to attend, so all proceeds from this event will be donated to assist with offsetting these costs. The By Waters will donate all “lifetime memberships” ($5) purchased that day to Soldier’s Heart as well.If there is anyway you can help spread the word about this event it will be greatly appreciated!

Respectfully,

Kat Thomas
