Share

Word on the grapevine is that Asheville Citizen-Times Executive Editor Susan Ihne is no longer employed as editor. The announcement was made this afternoon.

Ihne was named editor of the newspaper in October 2005.

Much more on this as it comes in. I’ll be right back – the hotline’s humming. If you hear anything, drop me a line: sweetashvegas@hotmail.com.

p.s. I think Phil’s only been there a little over five years … I started when Julie was still ME, and I left near my fifth anniversary. Phil started a few months after me.

If they go with stale blood, it will be a mistake.

Eight years is long enough for an M.E. to make a positive impact and way too long for anyone who is really pegged as a potential star in Gannett, Inc. to sit in the same office — especially when that someone remains invisible to most of the community after all these years.

The old game and old guard is Just. Not. Working. Please get a grip, Gannett.
