Larry Blunt will make his debut appearance in early September with WLOS, according to insiders. So what does it all mean?
First, the Wickershams may well be traumatized. Scottie2Hottie made it clear that he wanted the anchor job, according to station folk, but some of the powers that be questioned whether he had enough experience.
Does this mean it’s back to the mean streets of reporting for Scottie2Hottie? Most likely. Meantime, how about Beauty Queen Candace? Insiders have said she was ready to quit if her hubby didn’t get the anchor chair and she didn’t get off the crappy weekend shift.
Who in their right minds is going to kick Tammy out of a weekday slot? She’s got the best personality by far – she’s truly fun and funny – and she reads a decent report. Candace comes off as an airhead. Tammy has her solid “Never Stop Learning” report. What real work has Candace done?
This will finally mean an end to the anchor chair merry-go-round, which will be good. We need some consistency. And I have no idea what impact Blunt will have on the TV newsroom, but apparently his predecessor, Frank Kracher, made quit an impact. Perhaps Blunt will re-energize the news team to do some harder journalism.
We can only hope.

That’s got to be a blow to Scottie2Hottie. How can one be to inexperienced to read the news?
I had the priveledge to work with Larry Blunt
back when he was in the Greenville Market back in the mid ’90’s. He was the original “Buyer Beware” guru before Tim Waller took it over. Larry was a hoot to work with and had some pretty funny story ideas. He’ll do fine as long as he doesn’t loose his temper!Larry was also featured on “Breaking News” on Discovery Channel when he worked in Denver’s KUSA. Welcome back to the sunny South, Larry!
