A shout out to the MountainX for shining the spotlight on the Ashvegas blogging community. Considering that there’s a blog being created about every second, it’s a trend worth writing about.
We at Ashvegas feel honored to be in the company of the dozens of other WNC bloggers we’ve seen, as well as all the other millions in cyberspace. We’re Johnny-come-Lately’s to the scene, so while we think we’ve got it goin’ on here, we’re just honored some folks are stopping by and showing some love.
We owe it all to the bon vivance (as Edgy Mama once so aptly described) of Scrutiny Hooligans and company for pulling us together. Thanks guys!
From the story:
“The entire blogosphere is a writhing, living, evolving medium [with] everyone trying to get their voices heard,” Gordon Smith observes. For him, the medium isn’t just about the novelty of a new way to communicate – or just a function of vanity. Blogs, he argues, are also “a great way to write every day, to vent frustrations, to shout, to scream, to organize, to disseminate information, to add a voice to the chorus, and to feel [like] a part of something bigger.”
And as the wealth of Asheville-based blogs proves, blogging is also a digital window into the beating heart of a flesh-and-blood community.
Amen, and thanks for including us.
