Some of what’s going on:
-Apple likes North Carolina and wants to build a facility here, but the News & Observer says the computer company wants some incentive.
-A 12-mile section of the Blue Ridge Parkway at Craggy Gardens that’s been closed for nine months is now open. I have pictures, and I’ll post later this weekend.
-Local Civil War historical markers were dedicated on Friday. I have photos from that, too, and will post later this weekend. Day in the Life of Asheville is keeping me hopping.
-The HonorAir program in Western North Carolina will be highlighted on NBC Nightly News, according to the Hendersonville Times-News:
The journey that World War II veterans from Western North Carolina took to Washington, D.C., will be highlighted on a national newscast tonight.
HonorAir is a national program that flies veterans to the nation’s capital to visit the World War II Memorial and other prominent sights.
The television segment is scheduled to air tonight during the NBC Nightly News that begins at 6:30 p.m. (Mediacom channel 4).
