I found myself getting tears in my eyes as I watched this video. It reaffirmed for me why I was drawn, and eventually followed my heart, to these beautiful Southern Appalachian Mountains. With the grace of God, I will forever remain here, in a place so very close to Heaven, itself!
It would be an honor to one day meet, and converse with, each and every one of the residents of Big Ivy, who spoke in this film. (Especially the precious lady in the lawn chair!) To her, I say: You remind me of my dear Grandma Alice (affectionately known, and remembered by our family, simply as "Granny"). I sometimes miss her so much that my heart hurts. I understood, at a deep, and innate, level, EXACTLY what your feelings were when you talked about the land. It can speak, and become part of, EVERY person's soul, if they would but take the time to listen to the whispers of its ancient wisdom and beauty.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to all who were involved in the filming and production of this film. Also, I ask how I might access, or see, more of your productions, both current, or from the past, and on into the future. This country NEEDS to see and hear more from people who respect and value this beautiful land of ours!
Keep up the good work, and I hope to visit you one day, "Big Ivy"!
