Clay’s Corner out in Brasstown keeps it real every New Year’s Eve with their famed Possum Drop. Get on out there and have some fun. Here’s the dealio:
The most exciting thing that we do in Brasstown, besides going to the John C. Campbell Folk School and dance with the pretty Danish girl, is “Lowering the Opossum on New Year’s Eve.” If New York can drop a “Ball”, Georgia can drop a “Peach”, then we can lower the Opossum.”
We have a lot of opossum thangs and stuff like canned opossum run over here in front of Clay’s Corner by Mercer Scroggs…We even have the new Diet Lite for you over achievers at the supper table. There are T-shirts, bumper stickers, videos, coffee mugs, refrigerator magnets, and Clay’s Corner Bubble Bath to keep ya clean. So, if you need something for that special someone who has it all, get him some of this stuff!…
And, if you stop by, you can fill-er-up at the gas pump, grab a fresh-dipped ice cream cone, and listen to the finest Bluegrass music in the South on Friday nights, when the local musicians take a turn pick’n and a grin’n until closing time.
Now folks, this ain’t no joke. We take our opossum seriously here at the epicenter of the entertainment scene in Brasstown. Clay’s Corner has received critical acclaim in the eyes of the media. We been featured in The Asheville Citizen-Times, Our State Magazine, and Mid-Atlantic Country, just to name a few.
