Press release here:

Bicycle Benefits commuter discount program has rolled into Asheville to offer deals to those on two wheels. This year-round program promotes cycling and boosts local business by offering discounts and rewards to cyclists who display their sporty Bicycle Benefit helmet sticker at participating establishments.

Bicycle Benefits, which began in Saratoga Springs, New York is the first program to monetarily reward cyclists for their commitment to cleaner air, fewer traffic jams, better personal health, and less dependence on foreign oil.

Asheville on Bikes is partnering with Bicycle Benefits to give people incentives for riding their bicycles.  The helmet sticker is your ticket to discounts and rewards city-wide and can be purchased for $5 at all locations which have signed on in Asheville.

·         41 current participants in Asheville

·         Places began getting involved in December

I just wanted to mention that Club W: The YWCA Health & Fitness Center (185 S. French Broad Avenue) offers a "Multi-Modal" membership discount for folks who agree to arrive at the gym on bike, foot or by bus. The discounted membership is $25/month for an individual and $47/month for a family.
