When will Larry start?
So far, WLOSers have yet to announce on air their new anchor, Larry Blunt from Denver. He was reportedly supposed to start in “early September.” I assume that means after Labor Day. When will we see him?
Well, Candice?
Rumors are flying at WLOS that newlywed Candice Little is pregnant. Candice hitched Scott “Scottie2Hottie” a few months ago. Anybody noticed a bump? Whether boy or girl, I say she should name the kid “Hartwell.” What do you think?

If screwing up the name of the U.S. Open champion is not enough, Jenny Dunn, the all-America synchronized swimmer anchoring the Sunday sports report on WLOS, does no better on local sports figures. Reporting on the latest Cameron Maybin non-development, she quoted “Roberson Coach Tom Clark.” OK, so his actual name is Tom Smith. Close enough.
Can anybody in Asheville forecast the weather?
Saturday Citizen-Times: Front-page story warns “4 to 6 inches of rain expected” from Hurricane Katrina.
Saturday Citizen-Times: Accu-weather forecast page forecasts scattered thundershowers, but no mention of “4 to 6 inches” of rain.
Sunday Citizen-Times: Uh, never mind the 4 to 6 forecast.
Sunday WLOS 6 pm forecast: Julie Wonderful says to expect “4 to 6 inches” of rain.
Sunday Weather Channel: Local forecast calls for “up to 1 inch” of rain.
What’s the deal, folks? Anybody got a clue?

I believe Cuevas’s forecast was right on the money including the path of Katrina. I was skeptical last week when he said it would go way West of here, but now I’m a believer. Of course, by the way you post about Cuevas here, you won’t give him any recognition.

Come to think of it, you’re right on. “Little Vegas Wickersham” has a certain j’ne… however you spell that.
Hmmm, I think they should name their baby Ashvegas. Ash, for short.
