From loyal reader Miss D:

Hey Jason,

I’m looking for the source of this fabulous t shirt. Someone gave me one last night, but of course all my friends want one or two as well. Can you ask your people?

"Where are the people who care about each other and their community?"

Christian Mom,
You ask an important question, albeit a rhetorical question in this case, then you proceed to judge and condemn silly acts of self-expression, even to the point of tying them to the horrifying acts of two sick and desperate women. Where are the people who care about each other and their community? They are volunteering at Manna Food Bank and ABCCM, they are putting their entire life's savings into small businesses that pay living wages, they are donning orange vests and picking up litter, they are donating to area non-profits at some of the highest levels in the nation, they are adopting at-needs children, fostering others, they are loving each other without regard to age, sex, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disability or yes, even religion. Jesus taught tolerance, not judgement. Given what the bible says about Jesus's company, his appearance and his progressive teachings, I wonder if he'd be welcome in your church.

Lol Loving and wonderful city, where were the loving folks when Hillcrest Apartment caught fire where was the fund raisers, but yet when an overrated artist needs something for free the great caring asheville shows up.

Where is Amazing Asheville when someone gets beat up and left for dead in the trendy neighborhood, where is this wonderful caring city then?? Where is all the people that watch someone get roughed up by the cops but no one will step forward to help them. Wonderful Asheville where they will skip the laws so underage females can go topless.

Yeah Asheville is wonderful and just warm and fuzzy if you ignore whats going on around you. I dont like Asheville, I love Asheville but I can see beyond the tunnel and the tunnel vision of down town. Get ready since this town has little to offer in the terms of real jobs this little woodstock utopiah will be soon over, have fun destroying another town.

I would respectfully ask that any Asheville residents that don't like it in Asheville to pack your bags and spread your righteousness elsewhere. Your negativity is the only thing that brings this amazing, loving and wonderful city down. I'll even offer to help you pack, for free.

I want to make a bold statement that will not be popular with most in Asheville. I totally agree with Senator Forrester… Asheville is a "Cesspool of sin" so he need not apologize. Wake up Asheville. Where are your morals? Where are the people who care about each other and their community? People do not care about our future or our children when they tolerate disgusting displays of wickedness. Women protesting "nothing" downtown by going topless??? What are we teaching our children? Is it ok to do whatever you want and whatever makes you feel good? Really? And what about the upcoming Ashtoberfest where many will celebrate by walking around as zombies? Really? Dead people? Have we so quickly forgotten? Two beautiful girls killed with a hatchet by their own mother… A teenager leaving her dead baby in a Bilo's restroom? How can walking around as a dead person be entertainment? Our society has become numb to all the evil going on around us… We think its entertainment. Asheville is a disgrace and dishonor to those who live here. Listen God doesn't change…He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He wiped out an entire city Sodom and Gomorrah for their wickedness… Watchout Asheville you could be next… Stop the tolerance for evil….

My partner Jeff Crawford, a graphic artist, created this t-shirt for the rally this past Monday. We had 15 printed up at Gallery MIA on 61 N Lexington Avenue so friends could show up as a group. We left the design at MIA and it can be printed on any of their shirts in stock.
