Loyal reader Tara passes along the recommendation for good Mexican food in town. Tara’s got good taste and apparently good taste buds. I’ve eaten here once or twice and have to agree with her — tasty and very affordable. Simple. I like it.

Hey…. I know you did a few pieces on Nova, formerly Scratch, formerly 28806…. So I just thought I would send an fyi about what is occupying the old 28806 space in westville… there is an authentic Mexican restaurant in there… when hubby and I stopped in on Saturday evening we were the only non-spanish speaking customers, which they say is always a good sign….
The food was great and so was the service… just hoping to drum up some business for them, since it wasn’t very crowded… the décor isn’t the greatest (very diner-ish), but the homemade salsa made up for it and so did the amazingly large portion of fajitas I received!!! AND the best thing about it is the low low prices!!! I don’t think you can eat fast food for as inexpensive as some of their menu items are.

Its called Tacos Jaliscos (sp?). I’ve had a friend who got really sick after eating there, so I guess its hit or miss. She thought that being the only gringo was a good sign too…
