Here’s the note from the folks at Brother Wolf Animal Rescue:
Those of you may know Sophie. Sophie is a 2 year old golden/chow mix. She was surrendered to us 5 months ago after her family would no longer care for her. Over the past couple of weeks, Sophie has been seriously deterioriating. She is showing signs of extreme kennel stress (pacing, continous panting, diarrhea and weight loss). Her quality of life is suffering. She is the worst case of kennel stress I have ever seen at our shelter. At BWAR, we strive to save as many animals as we can but we do not want any animal to suffer or have a poor quality of life while in our care. Sophie needs your help now. She has had a hard time getting adopted because she needs to go to a home as an only dog and she can be fearful of strangers. At Pet Soup, we work hard every day and with very little human resources. We do not always have the time to do things with the dogs that are very important and provide enrichment in the dog’s lives. We rely on our volunteers. Sophie and the staff at Pet Soup need your help. Sophie’s life depend on it. Please consider spending some of your free time with Sophie. She needs walks, car trips, people to spend time with her in a her run…just sitting with her. Extra treats, toys, bones. Just a little bit of your time can be so critical in Sophie’s recovery. Please consider helping her today.
Thank you,

Just wanted to drop a line about this dog. I went this weekend to give her a little extra attention and she’s got lots of fans now because of this email!
She’s a super sweet dog, great size. Much much more Golden Retriever than Chow. In fact, I’m not sure about the Chow part at all.
Since Sophie’s been getting extra attention I just spent time with some of the other dogs. They all need attention. Any little bit helps.
Thanks, Ash, for posting these pets!!!
