It’s going to be a busy week. You?
– Asheville will go into Phish mode starting bright and early Tuesday morning. Are you ready? Going to the show? Going to the after-party? Share, please.
– Beastie Boys will be in town Wednesday. If you see ’em, lemme know.
– I met the newest entrant in this year’s Asheville City Council elections, Esther Manheimer, last week. Sounds like she’s going to put together a sharp campaign. I didn’t talk with her long, but looking forward to watching her flesh out the campaign. I’ll be dropping by Mayor Terry Bellamy’s kick-off event later this evening.
– Anybody reading any good summer books?

Only one lucky friend was able to buy Beastie tickets; we were hoping for a guest appearance at Phish last night.
Beastie Boys? Local people got Beastie Boys tickets? No one I know was able to get any, me included. No, I’m not bitter.
Summer reading? I recommend "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies." Mindless, silly reading. Very entertaining.
For summer reading, check out colunumnist Leonard Pitts’ new novel "Before I Forget." Thoughtful, involving, and a total page turner.
I’m going to the Beastie Boys concert!!!! Woo hoooooo!
