Ashvegas is Rap City

We ran into these cool cats filming a music video on Saturday along Haywood Road. The guys said they were up from the ATL to hook up with a local filmmmaker and do the vid. They were working it, moving along the sidewalk. They had “extras” coming out of local storefronts – tattoo parlors and restaurants and stuff – to add some more flavor. As if a shirtless guy in a boa and platform shoes wasn’t enough.

We talked briefly to one of the guys – the dude with the shades and white tee – who said his name was Graham and the other guy was Bronco. Never heard of ’em, but we’ll be on the lookout for the video.

Yep that was us. The Artist was Bronco Johnson from the ATL.

We handled the pre-production on the video as well and I have to be honest, I wrote Asheville in it to keep us from traveling to Atlanta 🙂

But, the artists could not have been happier, and props to everyone in the West Asheville community for all the help and support. And a shout out to the photographer as well. I did not get a chance to say hey. I had my tunnel vision director glasses on that day.

Any way, it was a good shoot and the credits roll as follows:

Artist: Bronco Johnson
Director: Thomas W. Oliver
DP: Adam Hobbs

not surprising, that stretch of Haywood still looks small town.

I hope it stays just like that. I like it.
