Here’s the big announcement. Get out there and sing!
Do you think you can sing like those on American Idol? Do you have what it takes to get the crowd energized throughout the game? If so, then join the Asheville Tourists on Saturday March 28th for their annual National Anthem and Jeff’s Auto Sales Energy Team tryouts from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
National Anthem signers will be asked to audition on-field during the event. The tryout is open to all ages. Signers will be picked and notified in the next couple of weeks to pick dates that work best with their schedules.
“This is always a successful event,” Assistant General Manager Jodee Ciszewski said. “Asheville has been known for its talented and artistic residents and we always find a good mix of different age groups and styles to open up for our games.”
The team plays 70 home games at McCormick Field with the Anthem being sung before each contest.
New to the entertainment scene this season will be the Jeff’s Auto Sales Energy Team, spearheaded by fan favorite “Pudge, the Boy Wonder.” Assisting the on-field talent of Pudge will be the Jeff’s Auto Sales energy team.
“If you can get on top of the dugout and do the YMCA then you are in our sights for the energy team,” Pudge said. “We just have a good time and create promotions that will entertain the fans.”
The Tourists are looking for outgoing, energetic ladies to energize the crowds, help out with the on-field promotions and throw T-shirts into the stands. Members of the energy team are paid on a per game basis and must be at least 18 years of age.
“Minor League Baseball is all about fun and entertainment,” Director of Broadcasting Jay Burnham said. “We are fortunate to have Jeff’s Auto Sales step up to the plate and bring an added bonus for our fans.”
