This Daily Tar Heel story says Asheville resident Lindsay Guge is campaigning to lead the Campus Y at UNC Chapel Hill:

Five candidates are vying for two spots to lead the largest service organization on campus, the Campus Y.

This year’s five candidates met in Murphey Hall on Monday night in a forum to introduce themselves, share their experiences and present their presidential platforms.

Vying for one female co-president position are: Casey Beckner, Lindsay Guge, Jasmin Jones and Sophie Solomon. Jeff Chen is the lone candidate seeking the male co-president position.

Candidates were asked a set of four questions that they had to answer within five minutes total.

The questions posed included, “What do you believe Campus Y’s mission is?” and, “What experiences do you have that would allow you to be an effective co-president?”

For the fourth question, each candidate explained what they believe the role of the co-president is in relation to the Campus Y as a whole and the co-chairmen of the organization’s 18 committees.

All candidates stressed the importance of cooperation between the executive board and the organization at large.

Working with other groups on campus and increasing the Campus Y’s visibility among students were also important issues the candidates touched on.

“Campus Y is the one group on campus you turn to if you have a concern for social justice and want to enact change in the world,” Guge said.
