Asheville Scene launch party Friday with food and music

Asheville Scene is the new publication that replaces the Asheville Citizen-Times‘ “Take 5”. Called Asheville’s “Culinary and cultural guide,” Scene is created by a team that includes former Verve editor Jess McCuan and award-winning food writer Mackensy Lunsford, formerly of Mountain Xpress.

Jason of Ashvegas is also a regular contributor.

Tomorrow’s launch party includes music from Woody Wood and Underhill Rose (both acts highly recommended), plus food from Strada, Curate and Sante.

5-8 p.m. in the Grove Arcade.
