Asheville rumor control: What’s up at Chocolate Fetish, WNC Rescue Ministries?

Here’s some of what’s going around:

-I hear that the Chocolate Fetish, Asheville’s award-winning chocolate shop on Haywood Street, is looking to expand. Can anyone confirm? It would certainly make sense. The Chocolate Fetish must certainly feel a little competitive pressure from all the success, and expansion, of the French Broad Chocolate Lounge.

–WNC Rescue Ministries has a new executive director. Micheal Woods has quietly taken over, replacing the longtime former executive director, Vic Howard. So what went down? One year ago, the downtown homeless shelter unveiled a plan for a $7 million expansion. But no construction work has taken place. Is this construction project another victim of the down economy, or did something else happen? Trouble with fundraising? Anyone?
