Sarah Elizabeth Jones, a 27-year-old camera assistant, was killed after she was hit by a train on the set of Midnight Rider, a Gregg Allman biopic. Seven others were injured on the Georgia set. Jones, who lived in Atlanta and was killed last week, will be memorialized in Columbia, S.C., on Wednesday. She has a sister who lives in Boone, according to her obituary.

Thanks so much for writing about this, Jason. Members of the film community from all over the world have come together to grieve, support each other and make sure this never happens to another one of us.
As a friend of Sarah’s and fellow filmmaker I appreciate you spreading the word on this.
This was a extremely tragic event that will hopefully shine a light to a very real problem on film sets.
Sarah was not the first to be killed by the negligence of the powers that be, but I will do everything in my power henceforth to make sure she is the last.
Everyone who has enjoyed a movie should sign this petition. This young lady died in an attempt to entertain us. Please help us recognize her in this small way.
