Press release here:
Gaston Pictures Entertainment’s Robert Gaston and Michael Sheldon are partnering with TLA Entertainment’s Raymond Murray for Asheville’s first LGBTQ Film Festival opening Thursday, September 29th and running through Sunday, October 2nd. The primary location will be the Fine Arts Theatre (which will also provide the Filmmakers’ Lounge hospitality suite).
Gaston and Sheldon will be acting as Creative Director and Managing Director, respectively. Murray will apply his years of Film Programming (Founder and CEO of TLA Entertainment Group, Artistic Director for Philadelphia Qfest) to bring the very best of new Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender related films to Asheville.
…
In addition to an amazing lineup of films (the complete program at http://www.gastonpictures.com posting on August 31st), Asheville Qfest will be hosting a wide array of filmmakers and events outside of the theater. “Compelling film festivals provide an opportunity for the visiting talent to mix and mingle,” Gaston says. “We believe Asheville is the perfect destination for such celebrations, attracting filmmakers and out-of-town film enthusiasts alike. We aim to make Asheville’s first weekend in October a destination city for many. Asheville QFest will partner with local businesses and organizations, among them Blue Ridge Pride (Saturday, October 1st) and provide a platform for cross-promotion and community exposure.”
