Asheville etsy seller of the day: Aztec Pink Creations

Here you go. Azteck Pink Creations, by Jess, comes at you straight outta West Asheville:

Q:Please summarize what you make and sell on Etsy.

A: I make origami mobiles, wine charms, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. I’m planning to offer ink stamped greeting cards soon.

Q: What item makes you sad to let go? In other words, what do you have a special connection to?

A: I still miss the wire spiral bracelet I sold over a year ago (pictured in my shop’s banner). It took me hours to coil the wire so by the time I finished I felt very attached to it. I tried it on and felt so pretty that I nearly kept it! I’m tempted to make another all for myself.

Q: What are you inspired by, whether it be something in nature or a musician, artist or other creative wellspring?

A: I’m inspired to create what I can’t find anywhere else. I used to spend hours scouring shops for accessories with little luck. Now I not only come away with the satisfaction of having created something with my own two hands, I can have whatever I want whenever I want it!

Q: With the economy the way it is and the holiday shopping season coming up, what’s your perfect stocking stuffer or small gift?

A: Wine charms! My standard sets have 3 or 6 pieces in them but I am always happy to create exactly the number of charms a customer needs. Of course the name “wine charms” is deceptive; you can mark any glass that has a handle, stem, or neck with them – no alcohol required.

Q: What else would you like people to know about you?

A: When I’m not making jewelry or origami for my shop, I’m staying busy. I’m a writer of speculative fiction short stories, the occasional novel attempt, and I finished my first screenplay this year. I organize a monthly women’s writing workshop in Asheville called Women Writing in Asheville. I started my company Your Best Page Forward to design websites, book covers, and book text layout. I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio but I feel like Asheville is where I truly belong.
