Asheville blogger Kipper Schauer, who also runs a popular trivia night in town, has been writing a letter a day to someone who inspired him. He sends along a box of crayons, paper and a self-addressed stamp, and asks the recipient to draw him a picture and send it back. He posts about his letters on his blog, A Letter a Day.
Schauer has written more than 50 letters and just recently received his first two responses. The first was from former Night Court star Harry Anderson, who happens to live in Asheville. His second was from Steve Wiebe, who holds the unusual distinction of being the World Record Donkey Kong score holder.

Hi Stuck,
It's my project, and I think you're a bit confused as to my purpose and intention.
I am seeking to reach out to people that have inspired or interested me throughout my life. I write people letters in order to make contact, and I ask for drawings in reply.
I loved Night Court as a kid, and I walk by Mr. Anderson's house almost daily and wanted to contact him.
I'm sorry if the purpose of my project wasn't clear to you, or if you feel as though my blog isn't news worthy. Jason has posted about it before I received any responses, and I think he was hoping to let readers here know that I have indeed begun to see replies.
NIght Court was a good show and was on for eight seasons, so it must have been appealing to a large segment of the audience. I did prefer Harry Anderson's standup and especially SNL appearances in the 80s though.
Hey troll, aka stuck in shitkickerville, nc, maybe you should read why kipper is doing this before you post your ignorant vitriol.
Wow. Anyone who can remember the dregs-of-a-show, Night Court was, including ?? Harry Anderson?? Why is this relevant? Night Court and Harry, sure aren't.
