Asheville blogger Lance Martin qualified on Saturday for the Boston marathon after posting a great time in Saturday’s Chicago marathon. Martin finished the 26.2-mile race in three hours, 13 minutes and 25 seconds. (The men’s winner, an elite runner, finished at a little over two hours.) Martin blogs at Boston Dreams and Michelin Stars.
Congratulations to Lance!
Here’s a little sample from one of Martin’s blog posts after he arrived in Chicago:
But we made it to the Expo and we picked up our race packets. I brimmed like Charlie in Willie Wonka when they handed me my Corral B race bib, even though the red color will clash with my “black mamba” outfit tomorrow.
Asheville is a big running town, so I’m sure there are lots of runners out there planning to run the Boston marathon. Are you one? Let me know. Ashvegas would like to cheer you on.
