Via loyal reader Jen:
According a the Montford news group – Vadim Bora, a local artist originally from Russia, had a serious
stroke a few days ago and is in a coma at Mission Hospital.I met and got to know Vadim and his son Georgi Bora through the Faces of Asheville project, Georgi was my studio partner and Vadim came to visit on occasion. He is truly a remarkable man and artist. He also has made some of the pieces of the Asheville Urban Trail – specifically the Cat Walk pieces.
His arts studio is on Battery Park Ave right next to Wall St & his paintings and the gallery he runs are quite remarkable. My best wishes and hopes go out to him, his family & his wife Constance – especially during this holiday season. You may or may not wish to inform your readers of his serious condition – I know he is especially beloved by many in this community.

I am very sad to learn about Vadim's stroke. Thank you, Jason, for providing a forum for us whose lives Vadim has touched. Constance, I am thinking of you. My prayers are with you, Georgi and your family.

May we have an update, please?
Greetings. Thank you for the kind words about my husband Vadim Bora, and for posting his handsome portrait. His son Georgi and I appreciate the good thoughts and prayers from far and wide.
Blessings to all during this holiday.
As you wander about town with your loved ones during these days, you will see Vadim's work in many corners of his adopted home town besides the ones mentioned: Ten animal and children sculptures at the entrance to Mission Reuters Children's Hospital, Veterans Memorial Sculpture at the Asheville VA Medical Center, crucifix at St. Mary's on Macon Avenue, and the latest piece – "Cornelia and Cedric" on Biltmore Estate.
Vadim's talent is vast and his friends many.
Jim – It came over the Montford newsgroup from one of his neighbors.
So sad to hear of this! We just today visited Asheville and saw his Catwalk sculptures and enjoyed them. We wish him and his family well.
That's awful, JBO. I hope he recovers. He's a very good man and one of my favorite customers at True Blue. Where did you hear about this?
I met Vadim during my brief time at the Art Museum. Great guy. I wish him a speedy recovery. -=WL=-
