Press release:
Perched high above the “Paris of the South” Asheville, North Carolina is a new art gallery of sorts. The Asheville Club at 151, a private residence club in downtown Asheville has recently commissioned Jonas Gerard, a renowned, abstract artist in the Southeast and now an Asheville resident, to deck the walls of this exclusive residence club with 20 of his original works of art.
Although the residences offer amazing views of the city and the Blue Ridge Mountains through stunning floor-to-ceiling windows, Asheville Club manager Mark Peterson, knew it needed a bit more color.
“I was at a gallery walk in the River Arts District and came upon Jonas’s gallery, packed with over a hundred people and a great Cuban jazz band playing in the middle of the gallery,” said Peterson. “Once I saw his work and felt all the energy and noticed the smiles as we walked around, I knew I had to find a way to get that feeling into our residence club.”
Jonas established his unique connection with the Asheville Club at 151 in 2009 when he agreed to display his work in the lobby of Hotel Indigo-Ashville Downtown below the Club residences. The private residence club’s six luxuriously appointed residences have now been transformed and graced with color and energy, courtesy of some of Jonas’s finest originals. The Asheville Club is now the only private residence club on the East Coast to have original fine art in its residences.
