Asheville announces street closures for Bill Clinton visit on Thursday

Bill Clinton will rally Democrats at Pack Square Park on Thursday about 12:30 p.m. The event will mean downtown will be crazy all day. Take note. Press release here:

ASHEVILLE – The following streets will be closed from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. for an event to be held at Pack Square Park, Thursday, Oct. 21: 

Market Street from College Street to Eagle Street

(an exit from the parking deck onto Market Street for southbound turns will be available)

South Pack Square and Court Plaza from Biltmore Avenue to Spruce Street

Spruce Street from Eagle Street to College Street

Marjorie Street from Davidson Drive to Spruce Street

College Street from Spruce Street to Oak Street at the traffic circle will be closed from noon – 2:30 p.m.  The bus stop at College Street and Court Plaza, in front of the county court house, will not be serviced during this time.  Between noon and 2:30 p.m., riders should use the stop at South Pack Square at South Market Street.

No other transit routes will be affected by the street closures.
