From John Boyle’s Answer Man column in Monday’s Asheville Citizen-Times, who gets an update on Appalachian Craft Brewery’s plans to open a brewery in Hendersonville:
“Basically, early on we were trying to get abuilding permit from (Henderson County), and we had a pretty long delay there. That had a domino effect, and our timeline was pushed back because of that. We were hoping to open in the fall, but that delay got us,” said Kelly Cubbin, co-owner of Appalachian Craft Brewery.
The brewery, which will operate a tasting room similar to Dirty Jack’s in Asheville, already has its zoning permit required by the city of Hendersonville. Now owners are waiting on their alcohol permit from the state, which Cubbin thinks should come in a month or so. They have a federal brewing permit in hand.
“We should be ready to brew when we get that final go-round,” she said.

It might be a drive, but this brewery is awesome. Their Belgian Wit and the IPA are some of the best beers around.
