American Idol Caleb Johnson returns to Asheville

Caleb Johnson, the new American Idol, returned to Asheville late this week, his first visit back home since winning the singing contest. Earlier in the week, Johnson, 23, escorted American Idol runner-up Jenna Irene to her prom in Dearborn, Mich.

In Asheville, Johnson has been seen, and photographed, all over town. He worked out at Crossfit Summit, as evidenced by the above FB photo.

What’s next for Johnson? First he starts rehearsals for the American Idol Live tour, which starts June 24 and runs through Aug. 23. The closest that tour will come to Asheville is a stop at the Peace Center in Greenville, S.C. on July 22. Johnson is always finishing the recording of an album, which is already up for pre-order on iTunes. It has an Aug. 12 release date.
