March 4
WNC Peace Coalition meeting at Unitarian Universalist Church at 7 PM. Please enter from the north side, at the basement level. We will be planning for our annual Peace Rally and other actions.
March 11
Die-in at noon on the Quad at UNCA. This action is sponsored by Students for a Democratic Society at UNCA.
March 12
Veterans for Peace meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Atlanta Bread Company.
March 14
Movie night at Unitarian Universalist Church at 7 p.m.. They will be showing “Caught in the Crossfire” a short film about Fallujah, then we will show two short films from No More Victims. A speaker from No More Victims will talk about their projects to help Iraqi children and what we are planning to do here in Asheville. Free, donations accepted. Contact Lew at patrie.wncpsr@main.nc.us for more information. We will also be setting up the “Iraqi Civilian Casualties” flags at 6 PM on the grounds of Unitarian Universalist Church.
March 17
Operation First Casualty will be held at 12:35 p.m. on the Quad at UNCA. This action is sponsored by Students for a Democratic Society at UNCA.
WNC Peace Coalition will host a movie night at Pack Library in Lord Auditorium at 6 p.m. The movie will be “Dreams of Sparrows” a film by Iraqi filmmakers and was finished in June 2004. This film reveals the dramatic changes in the beliefs caused not only by the situation in Iraq, but also by the process of documenting it. This event is free, donations accepted. There will be pot-luck vegetarian snacks and discussion in the lobby of Pack Library afterwards.
March 18
Veterans for Peace will read the names of US military killed in Iraq. This will start at sunrise and be held at Veterans for Peace billboard at the corner of Lexington and Hilliard. This will be carried during the day at WPVM. If you can volunteer to read some names, please contact James at trusteejamesl@charter.net. They are also asking for volunteers for a blood drive. The WNC Peace Coalition will join in these actions.

March 19
WNC Peace Coalition will hold a short rally at First Congregational Church in downtown Asheville at 5 p.m. We will have a speaker from Iraq Veterans Against the War (Jason Hurd) and a performance by the Raging Grannies, then we will go out on the street and bridges of Asheville to protest five years of occupation of the country of Iraq through out the rush hour traffic. (Parking is on the street, be sure to feed the meters.)
March 20
Students at UNCA will gather at 3:30 p.m. to march downtown for a rally at 5 p.m. at Pack Square. There will be speakers from No More Victims, WNC Peace Coalition, Iraq Vets Against the War, and Vets for Peace, and Students for a Democratic Society. This is organized by Students for a Democratic Society. The WNC Peace Coalition will join in this action.

Women in Black stand from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Pack Square. We are asking all activists to make a
special effort to join them this particular week. The WNC Peace Coalition will join in this action.

Turn trash into energy
Double the efficiency of windmills and solar cells.
If France can do nuclear power so can we.
If Brazil can do biomass/ethanol power so can we.
If Australia can do LNG power so can we.
Domestically produced energy will end recession and spur the economy.
