A blogger’s ode to Asheville

Share

From wildplumtree.blogspot.com blog:

I love downtown Asheville. I love it for what it once was and what is now becoming. I love Asheville because its not quite sure what it wants to be. On one side you have expensive shops and boutiques, a street that was designed to look like a street in Europe. Rich people sit at tables on the street and eat their lobster and shrimp. The street is flanked by BMWs, Mercedes, and a Lexus or two. The next street over you have someone sitting in the doorway of an old wig shop reading tarot cards. You have drummers in the square drumming a chant and people dancing, their bodies crushed against one another. I love Asheville because you can see everything your heart desires there; even an open art gallery with bright colored bulls painted brilliantly.

They know nothing of the the Old Asheville, Old Asheville didnt involve tragically hip or drum circles. Things are changing now for the better.
