where does he sleep?
Any damn place he wants!
I found a bear in my yard a few weeks ago. I was shocked. I live less than a mile from I-240. My part of West Asheville is bounded by I-240 on the south and Patton Avenue/Smoky Park Highway on the north. I was shocked that a bear found his way into my neighborhood. I thought for sure that he had crossed a highway.
A few days later, I was driving on Shelburne Road, and I spotted a road which passes under I-240. I realized that the bear could have easily entered West Asheville right there…
All these bears are coming into town because their habitat is being encroached upon out in the county. Developments are replacing large sections of wooded area, and developments are no place for bears to live.
