Actor, producer, comedian and screenwriter Danny McBride was spotted at Chai Pani restaurant in downtown Asheville on Wednesday, according to loyal reader Edwin. On Tuesday, McBride was spotted at Top of the Monk in downtown.
McBride, alongside actor Josh Brolin, is in town to film a movie in Asheville and surrounds titled The Legacy of a White Tail Deer Hunter.
The movie is filming now, and continues to look for extras. Tona B. Dahlquist Casting issued this casting call on Nov. 9:
ASHEVILLE MOVIE -Seeking those interested in working as EXTRAS on the Movie “The Legacy of a White Tail Deer Hunter” starring Josh Brolin and Danny McBride. The feature film to be directed by Jody Hill (Eastbound and Down) will be filming in Asheville and it’s surrounding areas.
ALL ages and types will be needed for filming (Children thru Seniors).
In addition to ALL, they are currently in need of Males and Females to portray HUNTERS for filming next a day next week. Seeking those with hunting attire.
Those interested in being considered for filming should submit the following:A current Photo/snapshot -can be taken with a cell phone, your Name, Age, Cell phone/Phone, Parent’s name if a minor, Height/Weight, Clothing Sizes, City/ State you reside along with your Vehicle information –color/make/model/year.

ASHEVILLE MOVIE -For those asking..we have not started booking HUNTERS yet. We have been labeling and sorting the many submissions we received (which are many)…HOWEVER we do need 15 Hunters for Monday 11/16 and 15 DIFFERENT Hunters for Tuesday 11/17 ( a few female hunters are in the count each day). We hope to start sending request out tonight and tomorrow morning. So check your emails!
ASHEVILLE MOVIE -Seeking a caucasian photo double for child actor. Can be male or female as we may possibly need to wig.
Should be every day if needed and local to Asheville area.
May be needed early am hours or later in the filming day/evening.
Most likely not needed the entire filming day/night.
Home schooled youth would be ideal…or very short adult. (5′ or shorter)
Seeking those as close to 4’5 in height and 76 lbs as we can find that may be available. We understand the double may end up being slightly taller. As for weight -they be hunting attire so does not need to be exact match either -but of course we would like as close as we can get.
If your child or teen may be available as needed -please let us know ASAP. This person would start on Monday 11/16.

well, according to me at least, he went to the best restaurant in town!
He’s filming a movie here. A guys gotta eat. I’m guessing there will be more ‘sightings’ of him and any other co-stars (Josh Brolin) in the film that may or may not be famous.
