Asheville Scene writer Mackensy Lunsford points out that the menu of a recent Blind Pig dinner includes a listing for two hot local chefs, along with two Asheville restaurants that don’t exist.

Lunsford guesses that chefs Elliot Moss (The Admiral) and Matt Dawes (formerly of table) are dropping big hints about their future plans.

From her blog post:

Moss, an accomplished chef with a penchant for whole-hog barbecue, is representing Asheville’s Buxton Hill Barbecue (instead of The Admiral) on the menu. Moss has long toyed with the notion of starting his own business — most recently, he wanted to open up a soda fountain in a food truck.

Dawes represents Asheville’s Bull & Beggar. Rumors have been circulating for nearly a year that he’s opening a restaurant in the Wedge building in the River Arts District.

Rumors of a Wedge restaurant with an Admiral connection have made the rounds since summer.
