Local community members and entrepreneurs are joining forces to bring Kauffman Foundation’s 1 Million Cups (1MC) to Asheville. These weekly gatherings will encourage innovation and entrepreneurial growth in Asheville and Buncombe County. Entrepreneurs are invited weekly to gain insight and ideas about how to improve their business as well as connect with others in the community.

Each week 2 local businesses will give a six-minute presentation about their company, challenges, and processes to help fellow entrepreneurs, investors, mentors and advisers to stimulate, learning, networking and growth.

1 Million Cups will be presented by Josh Dorfman of Venture Asheville, Justin Belleme of JB Media Group, Craig McAnsh of Mojo Coworking, Matt Popowski of the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County, Mandy Berger of The Buzz, and Paul Hedgecock of eCommerce Business Solutions.

“It’s important to have a regularly-scheduled weekly gathering for Asheville’s small business startups to learn and network. 1 Million Cups offers an exciting forum for helping grow and connect our entrepreneurial community and Mojo Coworking is happy to be hosting the weekly Wednesday morning events,” said Craig McAnsh of Mojo Coworking.

The first 1MC event in Asheville will be held at 9:00 A.M. on August 27, 2014 at Mojo Coworking on Market Street in downtown Asheville. 1MC meetings will be held every Wednesday from 9:00 – 10:00 A.M..

“Launching 1 Million Cups of Coffee in Asheville is an exciting opportunity to further connect our startup community and help our entrepreneurs scale their companies. Venture Asheville is thrilled to support the entrepreneurs organizing the program and leading the charge,” said Josh Dorfman, director of Venture Asheville.
