broadways_asheville_2015Word on the street is that Broadways bar on North Lexington has been sold to a Morganton couple.

Broadways has been a reliable, late-night watering hole in downtown Asheville for years, back to the days of the beloved Vincent’s Ear on Lexington. There was a well-worn path between Vincent’s and Broadways – the first had the beer, the second had the liquor. Broadways is known for its live music and great drink specials, too.

There have been recent changes to the bar line-up on North Lexington, one of Asheville’s most eclectic streets in that it features a host of independently owned bars, restaurants and retail shops.

-The longstanding Emerald Lounge closed last year, and Tiger Mountain moved from around the corner to take its spot at 112 N. Lex.

-Crow and Quill opened up last year in the former Blender Gallery space at 106 N. Lex.

-Lazy Diamond opened last year above Forever Tattoo at 98 N Lex. The bar is the work of Chris Bower, of West Asheville’s Double Crown bar.
