Underhill Rose – Who Brought The Sun from Harrow Beauty Motion Pictures on Vimeo.

The incomparable harmony of their soaring, sultry vocals, prolific lyrics and unique fusion of Americana, bluegrass, R&B, and roots music makeup the “heartfelt country soul” Underhill Rose has become known for. The Asheville, N.C. based trio is led by Eleanor Underhill, an accomplished lyricist and banjo picker with an alluring, smoky voice and Molly Rose, the powerful songstress with a soaring vocal range and dazzling stage presence. The addition of bass player Salley Williamson produces an impressive third harmony to this lovely trinity. Their unmatched sound is captured on their self-titled, debut CD.

Since forming in 2009, Underhill Rose has shared the stage with the likes of singer/songwriter Jim Lauderdale, Blackberry Smoke, Col. Bruce Hampton, Larry Keel, and the Everyone Orchestra featuring Jon Fishman and Papa Mali. The ladies have also earned a coveted showcase performance at the famed Grove Park Inn. Their fresh sound, visually appealing performances and an extraordinary ability to blend a multitude of musical genres makes Underhill Rose a desirable addition to festivals, theaters, and listening rooms across the country.

Yarn

Since their start in 2007, Yarn’s original Americana sound has developed into music that seekers of the unique see as the soundtrack to their lives. Yarn’s first four albums were recognized by the AMA’s and R&R radio charts, spending time in the top 5 at their highest point. Yarn has become one of the hardest-working and harder-touring bands for this generation’s digital natives and new music folllowers.
2012 brings this grammy-nominated roots band into the music revolution, inspired by today’s music devotee’s hunger for artists to believe in and follow, they are giving it to the fans everyday in everyway possible. Yarn’s devotion to their fans is realized in online and social sharing of their music, whether it’s daily video posts, premiering fresh songs on local radio, or performing live in small town venues across the country. They are bringing songs to American music lovers, and the music lovers are responding.
Yarn’s devoted followers, affectionately called the “Yarmy”, answered the band’s request for aid when they funded their new record through Kickstarter. Raising in excess of $5000 of the $15,000 needed, the “Yarmy” proved their allegiance to Yarn and their music being heard in 2012.

The fans have spoken, and on March 20th, Yarn releases their new album, Almost Home, produced by the multi-Grammy winning, Bil VornDick, who has worked with Alison Krauss, Ralph Stanley, Bob Dylan and many others. VornDick came across a Yarn performance at “Music City Roots”, Nashville’s progessive live music show that showcases some of the best of the Americana music scene. Although they didn’t come
together that night, VornDick and his wife heard Yarn on a Virginia radio live remote a few days later as they were traveling. VornDick decided it must be a sign and the rest is Yarn history.

Micah Dalton

“Forging a path through music that began with These are the Roots, Atlanta-based singer/songwriter Micah Dalton presents his newest full length studio release, Blue Frontier. A collection of 12 songs that sonically run the gamut from 60s and 70s soul and R&B like that of Bill Withers or Nina Simone to the rootsy fire of Paul Simon and Neil Young.

“I think there are a lot of entry points in these songs,” Dalton says. He approached the writing of the album with a storytelling mentality that branched out from explicitly personal stories to speak to the universality of human experience.

Vocally, Blue Frontier (recorded in three weeks in Nashville) sounds like a soul record. But the addition of Atlanta-based musicians heading up the rhythm section add a touch of an Atlanta flavor.
Through each of the 12 tracks, the listener is treated to a musical journey that will appease the tastes of even the most particular of music listeners. The album offers up styling and lyrics relatable to all, no matter their stage of life.

Dalton has shared the stage with a wide scope of artists, ranging from Richard Julian (Little Willies), Dave Barnes, Jon McLaughlin, Gym Class Heros, and Kaki King. He has also been featured in Southern Living, Paste Magazine, Obscure Sound, Ath Fest, and SXSW.

Love these ladies. My girlfriend and I see them whenever we can. They play at GPI a lot (for free!). Also saw them at LAB (Lefty Williams opened). Barrel House Mamas is their former name.

    Much love,
