West End’s Sweet and Savory Date Night

West End Bakery and Cafe will be opening Friday and Saturday evenings from 7-11PM beginning March 28 & 29 and offering desserts, coffee & espresso and small plates as well as beer, wine and mimosas.

Over the past few years, Haywood Road has seen a significant increase in the number of restaurants, bars, and music venues – bringing more nightlife options to West Asheville. The West End Bakery & Café has been a cornerstone of the local community since 2001, serving made-from-scratch baked goods, breakfast and lunch to an enthusiastic neighborhood base and an ever-increasing flow of tourists.

The bakery is now expanding its hours to include Friday and Saturday evenings from 7-11 pm so friends and families can enjoy a beverage and dessert or savory snack before or after patronizing one of West Asheville’s fabulous nighttime establishments.

Small plate offerings will include a Local Cheese Plate, a Sunburst Farms Smoked Trout Plate and the Hot Mess, warm gooey pimento cheese and bacon for dipping, all served with fresh Bakery bread, chips or gluten-free crackers.

On the sweet side, patrons can choose from menu standards such as the Classic Cheesecake drizzled with Caramel and Chocolate Ganache, House Carrot Cake and a Chocolate Mousse with Raspberry Infused Whipped Cream. These are complimented by a rotating variety of cupcakes, chocolates, trifles and bread puddings invented daily by our dessert chef. All can be paired with coffee and espresso drinks made with organic, free-trade beans roasted right next door by BeanWerks.

And now, West End Bakery will be offering select red and white wines by the glass, Asheville Brewing Company beers, and Mimosas. There will be an Open House April 4 & 5 for patrons to come sample offerings and celebrate West Asheville’s vibrant community.
