The Mountain Oasis music fest round-up: Connecting with Asheville businesses, official local beer, more acts

mountain_oasis_fest_roundup_2013Here’s a little catching up on the latest with October’s big Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit, the electronic dance music festival put on by AC Entertainment. It will arrive in Asheville Oct. 25-27.

Final list of bands announced

The festival recently announce the last of its line-up. Those acts include Deltron 3030 (a collboration between Dan the Automator, Del the Funky Homosapien and Kid Koala), PANTyRAiD, XXYYXX, Rudimental, Darkside (Nicholas Jarr and Dave Harrington), Baths, Claude VonStroke, The Orb, Raime, How To Dress Well, Laurel Halo, William Basinksi, Tourist, Nostalghia, Big Black Delta, Jherek Bischoff and I Speak Machine (Tara Busch).

Headliners already include Nine Inch Nails, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights and Neutral Milk Hotel.

Local showcase

The Emerald Lounge will host a local band showcase on Friday and Saturday. The list of acts includes PaperTiger, RBTS WIN, The Jellyrox, Hi Alta and Marley Carroll. Mountain Oasis ticket-holders get in free; $10 for the general public.

Official festival beer

The festival just announced that Asheville Brewing is making the official festival brew. Electric Pale Ale was brewed with Citra and El Dorado hops. There’s a Sept. 18 launch party at the Mill Room.
