I would be remiss if I didn’t take a minute to note that The Junction Restaurant & Bar in the Asheville River Arts District celebrated its 5-year anniversary this week.

Owners Charles and Tanya Triber opened in the RAD at a time when the national economy was still stinging from a steep decline, and when opening a new restaurant in the River Arts District was a huge gamble. Would tourists find it? Would locals consistently support the endeavor?

The answer to both is “yes.” The restaurant business is tough, and Charles and Tanya have put their heart and soul into creating a restaurant that produces consistently excellent food in an inviting atmosphere. Charles and Tanya are friends, and I highly recommend The Junction.

The restaurant celebrated by hosting a spring beer dinner earlier this week featuring a five-course dinner by Chef David Van Tassel and the beer of Hi-Wire Brewing. The dinner benefitted the Asheville City Schools Foundation.

Congratulations again, guys! I’ll see you soon.
