Asheville-based Solis Films will be shooting the film around Asheville, Old Fort and Black Mountain starting Dec. 1.
The event is set for 6 p.m. on Sept. 28 at The Millroom in downtown Asheville.
Filming for the made-for-TV remake of “Dirty Dancing” created a buzz in downtown.
The movie, done in the magical realism style, will be filmed in part at Harvest Records and The Mothlight.
Asheville is set to transform into Studio City this summer with the filming of a movie starring Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson and Kristen Wiig. Filmmakers have a base of operations in the BB&T building and are scouting a variety of locations, both city-owned and private.
