Every summer an extraordinary community is created and blossoms at the Asheville JCC. Campers, counselors, and camp specialists build lifelong friendships as we explore, laugh, grow, and delight in the joyous days of summer. Together we embark on a journey of self-discovery, conquering challenges and celebrating triumphs along the way.
Camp Ruach is a unique Jewish day-camp experience that is open to all first through eighth graders. Each one-week session is an adventure — filled with swimming and sports, cooking and crafts, nature and gardening, dance and music—and ending with the celebration of Shabbat. Our Camp Ruach community creates unity from diversity — all while having the time of our lives.
Whether they are here for one, two, or all eight weeks, Camp Ruach campers come away having grown and changed, carrying a newfound sense of confidence and independence. Here, we learn that justice is not only knowing right from wrong, it is about the values we bring to repair our world.
Camp Ruach is celebrated as an exceptional summer camp by Jewish and non-Jewish families alike!

The only summer day camp of its kind in Western North Carolina, Camp Tikvah enables children on the autism spectrum to enjoy the fun and community of Camp Ruach in an individually monitored and highly structured program. A collaboration between Autism Consulting and Training, Inc. and Camp Ruach, Camp Tikvah is a unique four-week experience that allows these special kids to participate in as many peer activities as is individually appropriate. Well-trained counselors focus on sensory issues, communication, socialization, and of course, community and fun. All Camp Tikvah staff complete an intensive training with Jennifer Lingle, M.Ed., Director of Autism Consulting and Training, Inc. and Camp Tikvah program director. To ensure Camp Tikvah is the right setting for each child, and because space is limited to six campers per session, families must be interviewed prior to registration. Contact Camp Ruach Director, Seth Kellam to arrange your interview.
