Press release here from loyal reader Barb:

I am a volunteer with RiverLink and I am working on the Anything That Floats Parade which is held in conjunction
with RiverFest 2012 on Saturday, August 11, 2012.

For this event, teams build all kinds of wacky rafts and float down the French Broad River .
They will be competing in 5 categories: Most Creative, Green Machine, Ugliest, Funniest, and Unique Design.
The rafts can be as simple as a decorated canoe or as sophisticated as your imagination takes you.

This year, we are adding a youth division to the parade. We are actively seeking youth groups to participate as a way to foster teamwork and a love for the river.

Registration has begun for this event. We are hoping that teams register early to have plenty of time to design and build their rafts.

For more information, check out the Anything That Floats section of the website here.
