Rapid Transit Video announces the premiere of “Coming Home,” a DVD featuring four short films about kayaking from around the world. The premiere will take place at the Asheville Pizza and Brewing Company (675 Merrimon Avenue, North Asheville) on Thursday, December 22 at 10 p.m. Admission is $6 and comes with one raffle ticket; additional raffle tickets will be available for $5 each. Throughout the evening there will be raffle drawings of kayak gear and goodies from local businesses. All proceeds from the raffle as well as a portion of DVD sales will go to benefit non-profits Our VOICE and RiverLink.

I was just getting ready to write you this morning about the film premiere we’re hosting on Thursday at the Brew’n’View when I noticed that it was already up on your blog (I guess via RiverLink). Thanks much for featuring us there. We’re premiering this kayak movie somewhat out of season for the paddling community, and we’re hoping to draw in a good audience of folks from the broader, non-paddling community in Asheville.
I wanted to send you an update on the event this morning. Spencer and I have gathered a bunch of prizes from companies in the paddling industry as well as local business to support the fundraiser for Our Voice and RiverLink (full list of raffle partners below). We’ve also produced a silly video to announce the Asheville event (featuring outtakes from our filming for the DVD menus):
