urban_gypsy_2014Elle Erickson will bring her Urban Gypsy Trunk Show to Lexington Avenue in Asheville March 28-30, and it sounds like a blast. From urbangypsytrunkshow.com:

Traveling thrift store, stand up comedy act, or impromptu dance party? Urban Gypsy Trunk Show is THE most fun you will ever have shopping! Happy customers are able to gather items guilt-free with every article of clothing being recycled and usually between $4-$10. Shoppers are swept away with the excitement and joy that comes with getting beautiful clothing in an inspiring setting. Whether you want a costume for that funky festival, the perfect vintage dress, or a classic blazer, you will be thrilled with your new treasures. Urban Gypsy also features one of a kind men’s & children’s clothing!

Verve magazine has a great story about Erickson and Urban Gypsy. A snippett:

It’s not a chain clothing store with bleak fluorescent lighting. And it’s not an exclusive boutique fraught with expectant silence.

Instead, fashion entrepreneur Elle Erickson offers an atmosphere with live entertainment, disco balls, tarot readings, chair massages, and dancing breaks at her Urban Gypsy Traveling Trunk Show. She brings the fun to each pop-up fashion event she creates, wherever she creates it.

“The name ‘Urban Gypsy’ was renting space in my head for years before I put together the trunk-show idea,” says Erickson, who went to her first trunk show outside Charlotte several years ago with friends. “It was just racks of clothes. I thought, ‘I could do this,’ but I wanted more of an event with lower prices.’”

The show dates and times:

The next Urban Gypsy Trunk Show happens at 30 N. Lexington Ave. (above Mountain Lights) on March 28 (1-8 pm), March 29 (11 am-8 pm), and March 30 (12-6 pm). Urbangypsytrunkshow.com
