punk_wok_2013Punk Wok, a new pop-up restaurant, will open inside the MG Road bar in downtown Asheville, according to the interwebs. Chef Elliott Moss posted the above image on Instagram announcing the new eatery. I’m tracking down details.

MG Road is a bar and lounge that opened at 19 Wall St. in downtown. The owners of the popular Indian restaurant Chai Pani opened MG Road last year. Moss, who grew up in South Carolina, moved to Asheville in 2007 and worked as executive chef at The Admiral, which has won wide acclaim for its delicious food.

More from Jesse at MG Road:

It’s a true pop up restaurant every monday night at MG Road. The space will be transformed into an everyday Asian Restaurant, but with a punk rock aesthetic. That same concept applies to the food as Elliott is creating dishes with an Indo-Asian influence from India, China, Thailand, Japan, and Vietnam. The menu is affordable and will change every week. The beautiful part is there is no presale of tickets or tasting menus, just come as you are and expect some great music, too.
More details to come…
