This looks like fun. Press release here:

Asheville’s Leslie Rogers, founder of Trillium Dance Company, and Lucy Howard, founder of Helix Pole Performance, have come together to create Tribe Dance and Pole – Asheville’s newest movement studio. Tribe officially opened its doors on Monday, April 10th at 475 N Louisiana Ave in West Asheville. They will be hosting a grand opening celebration, free and open to all, on Friday June 6th from 6:00-9:00pm.

Classes are offered to movers of all ages and range from Kids Flow Arts, ZUMBA®, and all levels of Pole Dance (certified through Pole & Aerial) to Liquid Hip-Hop, Ballet Fundamentals, and Modern Fusion. Tribe is an innovative and collaborative community of teachers, dancers, and movement enthusiasts committed to offering accessible and empowering classical, pole and progressive dance classes for everyone. Tribe believes in training dancers in the fundamental building blocks of dance technique while encouraging authentic embodiment and radical free movement.

The story of Tribe began when Leslie Rogers met Lucy Howard and decided to partner in opening and co-creating a new kind of movement studio. Rogers and Howard share a wealth of experience. Rogers has studied dance her entire life and boasts an impressive resume as a modern dance choreographer, teacher and professional dancer. Howard has years of training as a gymnast, personal trainer, and choreographer and has trained and taught pole dance for over 10 years. Notably, in 2011, Howard opened the first professional pole studio in Northeast Pennsylvania (Pole Dance Fitness).

Together, their vision was born to create a unique hybrid studio where everyone, no matter their background, could awaken the dancer inside. Their shared passion for expressive movement is creating a home for dancers of all ages and abilities to experience and celebrate the powerful potential for healing, growth, and joy through dance. All are welcomed and encouraged to stop by to see the brand new space with its top of the line sprung Marley floor, atmospheric lighting installations, luxurious waiting area, six brand new 12ft chrome static/spin poles and advanced sound systems.
