From left, the ladies of 7 Ton Design and Letterpress Company: Beth Schaible, Ele Annand and Jennifer Rozzelle.

7 Ton Letterpress, a collective of friends and artists working out of a building on Westwood Place in West Asheville, has evolved into a single new company, 7 Ton Design and Letterpress Company.

What started three years ago as a place for Kelly Kelbel, Bridget Elmer, Beth Schaible, and Ele Annand to share space and pursue their separate business interests is now one unified new business. Kelbel and Elmer have moved on and Jennifer Rozzelle joined Schaible and Annand. The studio was “founded with the goal of sharing space, equipment and camaraderie. We specialize in letterpress printing, graphic design, bookbinding, calligraphy, painting and shenanigans,” the team says in an online blurb.

In meeting and talking with them at their Westwood Place studio recently (which was renovated about six months ago), the three said they decided to band together and start fresh. They said they’re excited about the new partnership and have big plans for their print and design work. Look for everything from wholesale stationary lines to custom letterpress work, event posters, branding and the array of work that comes with servicing weddings.

“Part of it is the idea to reach a broader market through a range of services,” Annand said. “We want to have options for everybody. It’s nice to have a broad range.”

I’ve passed by the space dozens of times, but finally checked out the 7 Ton work online – it is really excellent. Keep up the great work, ladies!

“http://ashvegas.com/demosite/letterpress-is-sexy” – really?!?! Here’s your third comment thinking that this is inappropriate. Unless, for some unfathomable reason, the business owners requested this to be the url for the article please edit it to something that is more professional.

Quit whining. At least here we have some “truth in advertising”. These gals do look HOT. Especially the brunette on the right.

Hey! I’ve already left one comment, but please adjust the “letterpress is sexy” url path. As far as I can tell, sexy has nothing to do with this article.

Hey guys, that HTML location “letterpress-is-sexy” is offending me. And it takes a lot to offend me. Please adjust.
