Let the games begin: Harrah’s Cherokee to offer live table games Wednesday

After having only electronic games for visitors to play, a new amendment to the gaming compact between the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and the state of North Carolina lets Harrah’s high rollers play 21 new live table games including blackjack, roulette and craps.

The first hand will be dealt Wednesday at 6 p.m.

WHAT:  On Friday, August 3, 2012, the Department of the Interior signed into law the amendment to the gaming compact between the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and the state of North Carolina. This Wednesday, August 15, at 6:00 pm, the first hand will be dealt on the casino floor! Join Harrah’s Cherokee Casino’s VIP guests and the public as they play table games for the first time in a casino in North Carolina. Currently, 40 digital table games are available.  By mid-August guests can expect up to 21 games such as Black Jack, Roulette and Craps, with additional games available in the following weeks.

Harrah’s Cherokee Casino & Hotel anticipates having up to 100 traditional table games available by late November. Traditional slot machines will be added to the mix, and credit will be offered by early October.

Harrah’s Cherokee Casino & Hotel, a 56-acre property, is an enterprise of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation. Currently the Casino & Hotel is expanding and is the largest hospitality development project under way in the Southeast.

The $650 million expansion project is one of the largest in the U.S., with a projected completion set for 2012 – offering the greatest number of hotel accommodations in the Carolinas. In addition to the 56-acre property, guests have privileged access to the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation-owned Sequoyah National Golf Club, named one of Golf Magazine’s top new courses.  For complete details on the expansion, please click here.
