Howdy folks! Since we’re approaching the 4th of July, we thought it only appropriate to do a lil’ hot dog hype piece and showcase one of our local vendors, right here in downtown Asheville. Yeah, that’s how we roll. So without further adieu:

Hot dog fast facts

 – Southerners eat more hot dogs than folks in other regions of the U.S.
– Americans buy 9 billion hot dogs each year.
– On July Fourth, Americans will eat 150 million hot dogs, enough to stretch from D.C. to L.A. more than five times.
– Baseball parks sell 19.4 million hot dogs a year.
– Joey Chestnut is the U.S. hot dog eating champ. Last year, he ate 70 hot dogs in 10 minutes.
Special thanks to Stan Nikolski of Uptown A La Cart for the dogs and lemonade!
